Nelaya Holistic Design

After more than two decades as Büro + Webdesign GmbH, the Bern-based agency renamed itself Nelaya GmbH in 2024, establishing a new self-understanding as a "Holistic Design" studio. A transformation like this needs more than a new logo: the website has to carry the new attitude, take existing clients along and show new ones the way. We rebuilt the site from the ground up for exactly this purpose.

Technically the website runs on Contao, a CMS we know from years of hands-on experience. We developed the theme individually, based on Nelaya's own studio design work. Structures such as navigation, visual language and typography follow the new brand promise: clear, warm, calm. The site is multilingual-capable, responsive and optimised for strong pagespeed scores. Content is maintained entirely by the Nelaya team itself.

A particular requirement was the integration of the online shop for cards and artworks. Nelaya uses Ecwid for this, an external shop platform with its own standard layouts that didn't fit the new brand world visually. We integrated the Ecwid components via JavaScript so they blend completely into the look and feel of the rest of the site: same typography, same colours, same visual language. For visitors, there is no visible break between "website content" and "shop content".

Our collaboration with Nelaya goes beyond the launch project. We have been the agency's technical partner for many years, looking after maintenance, ongoing development and hosting. What we do works hand in hand with what Nelaya does: they design, we engineer the solution behind it.
