Arenenberg

Arenenberg is more than a Lake Constance landmark. On the historic estate above the Untersee, guests find a hotel, the Bistro Louis Napoléon, the Napoleon Museum, a vineyard, seminar rooms, a publicly accessible garden world and a varied course programme all under one roof. A website for a place like this needs to sort this variety without simplifying it. Someone wanting to book a hotel room should get there as quickly as someone interested in the wine world or looking for a seminar venue.

The creative lead for this project was held by our agency partner insieme. We handled the technical implementation: WordPress with an individually developed theme, fully multilingual via WPML for German and English. Each of the six thematic areas has its own world with its own visual accent, while all worlds connect cleanly into a shared navigation and brand language. Central content management by the Arenenberg team runs through the familiar WordPress backend, extended with custom input fields for the specific requirements of the estate.

A particular requirement was the integration of the WooCommerce shop, where specialities and wines from the estate's own production are sold. To prevent the shop from looking like a tacked-on WordPress default module, we adapted the product presentation, checkout and confirmation emails to the visual language of the estate. The connection to external booking and reservation systems for hotel rooms (Book Secure), restaurant reservations (Foratable) and gift vouchers (e-guma) was also integrated into the site, so visitors don't have to switch between differently styled tools.

We have been looking after the site continuously since launch with maintenance, updates and targeted further development. The variety of Arenenberg has continued to grow over the years, from new experience offerings to art exhibitions in the garden. The website reflects this development without the structure having to be reinvented each time.
