Work Selection

Work Selection is a Swiss personnel service provider with six locations from Basel to Wil SG, focused on Professional Search and temporary employment. In 2026 the company is among the recognised Swiss personnel service providers in both areas. A website for an active personnel provider is not a static marketing presence, but the operational front end of a dynamic process. New positions arrive daily, others are filled, and applications need to reach the responsible consultant without detours. We built the site so it keeps pace with this rhythm.

The design comes from our agency partner The House Agency in Zurich; technical lead, implementation and ongoing operation are with us. Technologically the site runs on Contao Open Source CMS, a platform we have been committed to as Premium Partner for over 18 years. For Work Selection we developed the theme from the ground up to the agency's specifications and extended it with several custom-built functions that the standard Contao scope does not cover. The operational focus is on three areas: job search, job presentation and application workflow.

We implemented the job search with cantonal filtering and a suggestion function that displays matching results as users type. Candidates can narrow their search to one or more Swiss cantons, which is essential given the country's multilingual regional reality. On the overview page of each main category (such as construction, IT, commercial, industry), the open positions are directly visible and can be filtered further without starting a new search. On the home page, an excerpt of "latest positions" shows the most recent entries, so returning visitors can immediately see what has been added since their last visit.

The technical heart is the API integration with Zvoove, the back-end system that Work Selection uses for job management and candidate database. Job postings are pushed from Zvoove via API into the Contao site, so the website always reflects the current state. In the other direction, incoming applications flow automatically as structured data records back into the Zvoove back end, eliminating manual transfer. The application form itself is conditional: depending on the job type and the applicant's entries, only the relevant fields are shown, which reduces drop-off rates and provides recruiters with only the information they actually need.

The site is complemented by a news section with category filter, in which Work Selection publishes labour market topics, HR articles and company news. We have been looking after the site continuously since launch with maintenance, updates and targeted further development. The project shows how Contao, combined with a properly built API integration, can develop into a fully-fledged operational platform that goes well beyond the typical presentation website.
